With reference to the correspondence that has

taken place on the subject of Water supply to the Sani-

torium, I beg to state the grounds on which I submit

that it is necessary to resist some of the conditions

which it is sought to impose. The conditions are as

follow :-

I.

"That the Military Authorities be re-

quested to furnish full particulars of the

service, and I attach a copy of the Waterworks

Regulations and of Forms C. and D, which may

be of service."

II.

"That the service be inspected and tested

by an Officer of this Department (the Colonial

Waterworks) and that the supply shall not

commence until it has been approved",

III.

"That a special arrangement be made that

the service be in no way altered or extended

after it has once been inspected and approved,

without due notice being given and approval

of the proposed alterations being obtained".
